CCN provides this general information about the titles and status of the standards developed and published jointly by the International Standards Organisation (ISO TC209), and the Committee for European Normalisation (CEN TC243). Additional CCN Members information explaining the background and use of the standards is available to paid-up CCN members.

The work of technical committees (TC) ISO TC209 and CEN TC243 is coordinated by an instrument called the Vienna Agreement. This helps ensure harmonization of standards in the same technical subject areas.

When international standards are published in CEN, they are required to be published as national standards in the CEN member countries. Therefore, the standards listed below are published as CEN, ISO and British Standards. Hence the designation BS EN ISO 12345:year.

Summary and status of the ISO TC209 and CEN TC243 standards for “Cleanrooms and associated controlled environments”. Where it is noted that a standard is undergoing systematic revision, the current published version should be used.

EN ISO 14644 parts “Cleanrooms and associated controlled environments”

EN ISO 14644-1:2015 Part 1: Classification of air cleanliness by particle concentration

EN ISO 14644-2:2015 Part 2: Monitoring to provide evidence of cleanroom performance related to air cleanliness by particle concentration
